about

The hysterical... er, historical background for this song is 100+ years ago when a one-horse open sleigh was your basic snowmobile of choice. Now cutting the horse's tail in a bob and hanging cold jingle bells on him was akin to super charging your hemi today. This demented animal would run all over the countryside. Of course, having only one horse under the hood improved mobility, and the open sleigh was lighter and was like driving a convertible in a blizzard--though a bit tipsy--(I'm talking about the sleigh). You have heard of the Good Samaritan? Well, in the third verse we read about the "other guy" who didn't quite make it in the Bible. He' the one who, seeing the guy laying injured on the ice, laughs--and then quickly drives away. That is why the passive-aggressive greeting of "Thanks a lot, pal!" is included in my version. Enjoy!
